“Webroster.net has changed our lives, our business has doubled year on year since we started using it”
Robert McNamara, Divisional Director, Cream Health and Social Care.
Cream Health and Social Care is an established, respected Healthcare Agency supplying Nurses, Care Assistants and Support Workers in Nursing, Residential or Community settings throughout Staffordshire and South Cheshire. Managing Director, Jenny Muir, established Cream Personnel Services in 1973, an agency supplying staff for office jobs, warehouse workers and engineering workers. Jenny, through personal experience of spending time with close family at hospital, home care and a charitable hospice was able to identify staff that delivered care with dignity and respect. Jenny realised the health and social sector within recruitment was a sector where she could add true value. As a result Cream Health and Social Care was formed in 2010.
Cream Health & Social Care now come highly recommended by both staff and care home managers. They pride themselves in going the extra mile for staff and in turn staff go the extra mile for the care homes they work for. Getting to know staff personally and understanding their strengths and key skills ensures that individual care homes are supplied with the right staff for their needs.
Cream Health & Social Care started using Webroster.net in March 2013. Having researched many rostering solutions online they knew from the first phone call to Webroster that they would be able to work together to put a system in place that was right for their business. “It was clear from outset that Webroster really understood the needs of a small but growing business like ours” Said Jenny Muir, Managing Director of Cream Personnel. “The support received from the Webroster Customer Support team has always been fantastic with any issues or questions resolved straight away, giving us full confidence in the system and the team”.
Before using Webroster.net they had a paper based system, Webroster.net saves hours of time when rostering staff and means staff can’t be double booked or requirements left uncovered. Cream Health & Social Care find it particularly useful that care home managers can log-in and see which staff have been rostered to them. As Webroster.net is an online system one of the main advantages is being able to use it when out and about. Managers at Cream access it from their mobile phone using PocketrosterTM, enabling them to make changes or keep updated whilst out on call or working away from the office.
“We’re using more and more of the features of Webroster.net” explains Jenny. “This year we want to implement giving staff a login at induction so they can go online themselves and see all the details of their weekly schedules online. We are also using the SMS module to confirm staff bookings, with a copy of the message stored in the system it enables us to check the history of which staff have received which bookings”.
Cream use Webroster.net to manage over 160 staff out in the field, processing payroll for 90-100 staff every week. The interactive staff planner enables them to select staff for jobs not just based on their availability but on their previous visits and history with a client enabling continuity of care. A whole host of criteria can be taken into consideration that would not have been possible using a paper-based system.
“Webroster.net has really facilitated our growth, it would have been impossible to roster the number of hours that we do now without it. The system reinforces our professionalism to our customers and our staff”. Says Robert McNamara. “We’d definitely recommend Webroster.net, it’s the best thing we’ve ever purchased for the business”.
Confidence in compliance
Cream work to, and surpass, all relevant industry standards and have an absolute commitment to the highest standards of compliance, monitoring and safeguarding. “Webroster.net has enabled us to demonstrate our compliance to both staff and clients, we use the ‘Extras’ features in the system to record renewal dates for staff training, DBS renewal dates and certifications ensuring we never slip behind with compliance.” Explains Jenny Muir. “We have created detailed staff profiles in Webroster.net including staff photos, DBS numbers, dates of last updates to all mandatory training along with an overview of experience, we can share this with our clients so they can be confident that the staff we supply meet their requirements.”
A strong aspect of Webroster is the management information provided. Each week, from reports generated, Cream identify KPI’s such as average hours per shift, average gross profit per temp hour, average hours per staff member, number of unfilled shifts. From this data they are able to identify the number of staff to be recruited to cover unfilled shifts. “These KPI’s drive both our recruitment and sales strategy on a weekly basis. With the reports ‘hot off the shelf’ each Monday we can immediately focus our efforts on the areas identified” explained Robert McNamara – Divisional Director, Cream Health and Social Care.
