Team Webroster paddled their way through the rain at the 2015 Peterborough Charity Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, achieving a first and two second places in their races. Not to be defeated by the wet weather, the team donned their waterproofs and paddled on throughout the day, cheered on by crowds of friends and family out to support the rowers.
There was stiff competition from over 36 teams, with Olympic gymnast Louis Smith making an appearance in one boat too. But the Webroster team, made up of representatives from all areas of the business, were up for the challenge and put in a fantastic effort.
Team captain Ian Knight said “It was a great day despite the downpour, we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits! It was worth getting wet to raise money for a fantastic cause.”
The Webroster team have raised over £200 for Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice which is a fantastic achievement. There is still time to donate to Sue Ryder through JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/Webroster-Ltd
