Jo Guy, Managing Director of AJ Social Care, would welcome all your support at the forthcoming UKHCA elections on 27th October. Jo currently sits on and hosts the West Yorkshire Sub-regional Committee for the sector skills council and the Yorkshire Coalition Committee.
She started the business in 2004 and now 6 years on the company employs over 200 staff and is increasingly recognised for its expanding range of care services to include Domiciliary Care and Training delivered through its City and Guilds approved centre.
Jo started her career in Social Care 17 years ago working hands on for a charity supporting adults on the autistic spectrum. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 1998 Jo spent the next few years facilitating 1:1 and Group Therapeutic Work to increase engagement with adults on the autistic spectrum. In 2000 following the successful achievement of her teaching and assessor qualifications she started work for a National Training Provider specialising in the delivery of Social Care qualifications. For the next 3 years Jo worked as a Manager for a Social Care Recruitment Specialist and in 2004 she set up AJ who so far this year have received a finalist award from the Great British Care Awards for Best Small Home Care Employer and have recently won the Eaton Smith Best Business Award supported by the Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Business Link recognising Jo’s dedication and commitment.
Jo is passionate about empowering people to be in control of their lives and has been instrumental in AJ achieving and maintaining a Three Star Excellent CQC rating held for the last 4 years. Jo is already pro active within the sector and she currently sits on and hosts the West Yorkshire Sub-regional Committee for the sector skills council and the Yorkshire Coalition Committee and actively participates in relevant consultations.
Jo’s Election to the UKHCA board would enable her to channel her 17 years experience, energy, drive and keen business skills to support the UKHCA in its work to ensure that all change is positive change and that the industry continues to prosper.
